What are State Profiles?
vinSUITE provides functionality to allow you to update Compliance & Shipping status on a state-by-state basis. As your compliance changes for each state, you will need to edit the information by using the State Profiles utility
Updating State Profiles
1) In vinSUITE, expand the Shipping Module and select ‘State Profiles’. The State Profiles utility will open in the workspace. A list of states with previously entered tax rates (if applicable) appears in the table.Select the Edit icon (located in the Actions column) of the state you want to edit.
2) General Settings. A description of options available is displayed below the image.
|Compliant Select the compliance status for the state (yes/no).|
|Fulfillment House Select the Fulfillment House that will be fulfilling orders for that state. By selecting a Fulfillment House, an order notification will be sent to the fulfillment company upon completion of an order. Selecting 'Winery Direct' indicates that you will be packaging and shipping customer orders directly from your business.
|Update all First Party Wines? Changing the compliance status or Fulfillment House will NOT automatically update existing products. To ensure ALL products are updated with the new settings set this toggle to YES. All new products created after the change takes effect will reflect the new Compliance and Fulfillment settings.|
|Tax Rate Enter Tax Rate information for the state and your editing. (Note: Tax Rate information is entered at the state level only & does not include tax rates at county/city level).|
|Taxable Shipping Set to YES if shipping charges should be taxed for this state.|
|Taxable Handling Set to YES if shipping charges should be taxed for this state.|
|Handling Charges If Handling Charges are to be applied to customer orders, indicate whether the charges are to be calculated based on a percentage of sale or a flat dollar amount|
|Handling Charge Rate Handling charge expressed either as a percentage of sale or flat dollar amount|
|Bottle Deposit If Bottle Deposit is to be applied to customer orders, indicate whether the charges are to be calculated based on a percentage of sale or a flat dollar amount|
|Bottle Deposit Rate Handling charge expressed either as a percentage of sale or flat dollar amount|
|Customized Name For orders that include a Bottle Deposit fee, the name you enter here will be displayed on the customer order|
For ShipCompliant users:
3) Compliance Message. Compliance Statements allow you to communicate important information to your customers regarding your ability to ship wine to their state. A description of options available is displayed below the image.
|Compliant Message To add a Compliance Advisory Message, enter the statement in the editing window. This message will appear at the top of every store page.|
Update all Compliant States Setting this toggle to YES will replicate the above compliance message on all compliant states.
3) Shipping Message. This message will appear in the shopping cart and during checkout. A description of options available is displayed below the image.
|Shipping Message To add a Shipping Advisory Message, enter the statement in the editing window. This message will appear in the customer shopping cart and also during checkout.
Update States With Shipping Message You can optionally choose to update the message for only the state you are currently editing, or you may choose to replicate this message for additional states.
